You Demon

If you can hear the silent space between,
These burning words that I have now recalled,
Would you allow our bleeding minds to deem
This freezing guilt a needless fire to hold?

For I still sleep for yester rues to pass,
And write of them in pointless poesy,
For in my wake, some sorrows still amass,
Your ghost that lives within my memory.

But if I see you tint your hair again,
Believe that I still try to bleach my soul,
And try to live with all the better men,
So I can try to feign a better role.

When colors fade, our darker shades appear,
To show the world in brighter tones of truth,
It brings to light the better things to fear,
And slowly burns the things that pride confutes.

Between these words you finally found repose,
It sealed my death in you, a chapter closed.
